About Us

Square Deal Country Store was established in 1982 by Larry and Nancy Street with the goal of providing Traverse City with high quality naturally minded dog, cat and livestock products with a focus on high quality customer service.


We have expanded into other markets to include Western and work boots, bird seed, and alternative home heating options while still focusing on customer service driven environment.

I really like this store a very good selection of horse tack. Very reasonably priced, had what we were looking for. Staff was very helpful.

This place is the REAL Deal. The prices beat all of the online retailers and the selection is truly amazing. The staff is second to none, they are so friendly, helpful and patient. The gentleman helping was great even though I couldn’t make my mind up between two different pairs of boots. I ended up buying both :). They’ve earned a customer for life I’ll be coming back for my boot needs from now on. No need to waste time with online retailers and trying to figure out if something will fit, they have it all here to try out. Thank you.
